Welcome. Most people who write to us are planning their first trip to East Africa, and that first email is usually a long list of questions — answering those is the part of the job I like best. We are a Ugandan company, licensed by the Uganda Tourism Board, and we write the itineraries on this site ourselves: small groups, a guide beside you the whole way, and every day set down in writing before you travel. About Tranquil Safaris
Tranquil Safaris Ltd plans every trip from its own office at Plot 19 Bukoto Road, Kamwokya, Kampala, Uganda. We travel in small groups of four to twelve guests, with guides who are as much storytellers as drivers. There are 116 itineraries on this site across 12 countries and 40 parks and reserves — every one written out day by day, and every one able to be rebuilt around the way you actually want to travel.

116 itineraries are published on this site, across 12 destinations; 49 of them run through Uganda, where the company is based and licensed. Any one of them can be read in full — the route, the parks, the nights — before you speak to anybody. What follows is the case for using us, and not one line of it asks you to take our word for it.

The whole trip is written down first
Every trip of four days or more is set out one day at a time: where the day goes, what happens in it, where the night is spent. The one-, two- and three-day trips are written up in full as prose instead. Nothing is held back until you enquire.

A trip is listed against a park because its itinerary genuinely spends time there, never because the name turns up in the write-up. 40 parks and reserves are covered on that rule, and each one lists the trips that actually go.
