Trekking can last for 2 to 6 hours and an hour is given to the trekkers to spend with the gorillas once they meet them. Trekkers are divided into groups of 8 before they start with trekking. To be able to trek gorillas one need a gorilla permit which is issued by the Uganda Wildlife Authority and it costs $700.
Whereas Gorilla Habituation is a fantastic activity since it involves spending 4 hours with a habituated family of gorillas. Just like the normal gorilla trekking permits, also habituation permits are on high demand since only 4 permits are issued on a daily basis, so you are advised to book your safari in advance. The gorilla habituation permit costs $1500.
