7 Days Wildlife and Primate Safari Uganda

Murchison Falls, Kibale Forest and Bwindi Impenetrable National Parks This 7 Days safari will take you to the home of Primates known as Kibale National Park where you will see amazing species like Chimpanzees, Red-tailed Monkeys, Vervet Monkeys, Olive monkeys, Red colobus Monkeys, L’Hoest Monkeys, Lesser Galago, Thick tailed Bush baby and many more. It also takes you to Queen Elizabeth National Park; this is a savanna park for wildlife viewing of animals like Lions, large elephant herds, buffaloes and a launch cruise on Kazinga, a channel that connects Lakes Edward and George. From there head south westwards to see the Mighty Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.  

Tour Plan

Day 1 :Drive to Kibale Forest National Park

Pick-up from the hotel by the driver after an early delicious breakfast and drive you to Kibale through Fort Portal city. You will see various spectacular landscapes, farms, traditional homesteads, and towns. Have lunch en route and continue to the Park, it is a rain forest hosting chimpanzees and other amazing primate species such as monkeys and baboons and birds. Day 2:  Chimpanzee Trekking – Kibale & Wetland Visit – Bigodi

After a very early breakfast, head out of the lodge with your guide to the Park head office for briefing about chimpanzee trekking. After briefing, you shall move with a skilled ranger guide into this rain forest in such for chimpanzees. During the search you will also be able to spot different bird species, even other primates like red-tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys and many more. When you meet a family of chimpanzees, you shall spend only one hour is with them watching how they live, socialize, feed and play it is a remarkable experience. After trekking, have lunch and in that very afternoon head for a walk in a wetland called Bigodi. During the walk, you will be able to see more birds and primates. Day 3: Leave Kibale and head to Queen Elizabeth NP

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive to Queen Elizabeth found in Kasese District, along the way, you will have a chance of viewing varying landscapes including the Rwenzori ranges and amazing vegetation types. Arrive at the park, have lunch at the lodge and in the evening go for a game drive through the Park. You will see various wildlife species, thereafter drive to the lodge for relaxation and diner. Day 4:  Early Morning game drive & Afternoon Launch Cruise

On this day be early to rise, such that you head out for an early game drive to see the early risers along the Kasenyi track in the park. Ensure that you have breakfast and set out on a remarkable drive, expect to see various animals such as buffaloes, kobs, antelopes, elephants, lions and leopards can be spotted if you are lucky. After the drive, go to the lodge for lunch and after lunch your driver will take you to Kazinga channel for a Launch cruise. While on the boat you will have a chance to see various water and land species such as crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes and numerous bird species. Drive back to your lodge for diner. Day 5:  Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After breakfast check you and set on another journey filled with spectacular landscape views to Bwindi through Ishasha sector which is home for climbing lions. Spot some of the animals in Ishasha and continue to Bwindi. When you reach, enjoy a well-served lunch and later in evening go to the Batwa community to pay them a visit. You will be entertained and also have an opportunity of participating in some traditional dances, storytelling and other activities.  Have diner at the lodge that evening and sleep early to prepare for the big day of gorilla trekking the next day. Day 6:  Gorilla Trekking – Bwindi

Wake up early, have breakfast and your guide will take you the park head office for briefing about Gorilla trekking, you will be told the dos and don’ts during the trek. After enter the jungle guided by an experienced park ranger guide, you are advised to be physically since this hike goes between 2 to 6 hours basing on the location of gorillas Endeavor to carry a walking stick, drinking water, camera, rain coat, and sturdy hiking boots. During the hike you will see some bird species, plants, insects and also other primates. After you have located the Gorillas, only one hour is given to you to enjoy watching them, you could even take some photographs with them but as advised by your ranger guide. After the trek, you shall be given a certificate to prove that you trekked. Thereafter, proceed to the lodge for diner but also rest enough. Accommodation Options;

Day 7:  Departure

Arise, and enjoy a delicious breakfast served at the lodge, check out and leave the lodge with your driver as you travel back to Kampala after an amazing and rewarding 7 days safari. Stop along the way to have lunch and also pose for photos along the equator. Thereafter continue to Kampala. Upon arrival, your driver will drop you at your hotel or at the Airport for your flight.
