The 3 days Chimpanzee tour takes you to Ngamba Island, a Chimpanzee Sanctuary situated in Lake Victoria where 52 chimpanzees are habituated, given care, love and safety. This Sanctuary was constructed in 1998 with the aim of providing home to orphan and rescued chimpanzees from Poachers. It is on this Island that chimpanzees have found a home and family from the care givers and the other chimpanzees.

Day by day

  1. Day 1

    To Ngamba Island

    Pickup from the Hotel or Airport by a safari guide from Tranquil safaris who will brief you about this short trip. Then have transfer of 45 minutes to Ngamba Island using a speedboat. Upon arrival you will enjoy watching the feeding of chimpanzees, in case you arrive in the time they feed. Have lunch at the island’s restaurant and the visit the fishing villages and neighboring Communities. Dine and overnight at Ngamba Tented Camp.

  2. Day 2

    Chimpanzee viewing and Forest Walk

    After breakfast, head out to start your day with the guided Chimpanzee experience in the forest to see these amazing creatures. During this walk, you will have chance to watch how chimpanzees live on a daily basis. You will also have chance of feeding them during the caregiver experience. After have lunch, you could continue with care giving or go for a sunset cruise in the evening to enjoy the tranquility of the lake.

    The cruise involves crossing the equator, and some tourists choose to swim there. You will also see fishing villages and surrounding communities. Return and enjoy diner that evening and an overnight at Ngamba Island Tented Camp.

  3. Day 3

    Transfer to the Mainland and Departure

    Have breakfast, and get on the speedboat to take you back to Entebbe’s mainland. Where your guide will then transfer you to the Airport for your flight or take you to visit Uganda Wildlife Education Centre also known as the Zoo, it is home to different wildlife species such as Tigers, Chimpanzees, Lions, snakes, buffaloes, elephants and many more as well as birds and plant species. And then transfer to the Airport.
