The 5 Day Primate Safari is a combined Chimpanzee and Gorilla Safari which leads you to the “Primates Capital”. Kibale Forest hosts the world’s highest number of primate species with 13 of the species recorded, this includes the Chimpanzees. The safari will also take you to the extraordinary misty Bwindi Forest, a home to over 700 Mighty Mountain Gorillas, the park also has scenic views and lush vegetation which hosts other Primate species, bird species and offers an unforgettable cultural experience.

Day 1: To Kibale Forest National Park – Crater Lake Visit
Your guide will pick you up from the hotel after your hefty breakfast, brief you and drive to Kibale Forest, the drive is approximately 5hours. You will enjoy your lunch en route and proceed to visit the spectacular Crater lakes in the region, enjoy the nature walk and also see various bird species, animals like monkeys, and also see amazing traditional villages in the area.
In the evening, drive to the lodge of your choice, check in, have dinner and an overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking – Bigodi Wetland
Day 3: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable
Leave Kibale for a 6hours journey to Bwindi Forest in Southwestern Uganda in search for the other kind of primates known as the Mountain Gorillas. You will have lunch en route and enjoy the spectacular landscape along the way. Upon arrival you will be taken to the lodge of your choice, check in and ensure to have enough rest as you prepare for the amazing encounter with the Mighty Giants the next day.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking and a Visit to the Batwa Community
Arrive at the Park Headquarter after breakfast, have a briefing about what to expect from the trek, the dos & don’ts while in the jungle. After follow the leading of a skilled park ranger who will guide you through the Park as you search out the Gorillas in the lush Bwindi forest. The trek takes between 2 to 8 hours basing on where the Gentle giants are found.
Finally meeting these amazing creatures is a phenomenal experience since you will get to spend time with them and watch their behaviors, feeding, games among other things, it is so rewarding. After go to the lodge and rest, in the afternoon visit the Batwa Community. This visit will introduce you to the culture of these indigenous people who have lived in the forest for years, with amazing ancient stories of how they survived on only hunting, gathering of fruits and traditional medicine. There is a lot to learn in this community.
That evening drive to the lodge for dinner.

Your 5 days experience with Uganda’s primates ends on this day, so you wake up early, have breakfast, check out and embark on the journey back, with lunch enroute in Mbarara. Proceed, and either have a stop at Igongo cultural centre or not. But you cannot miss out on stopping at the Equator to take photos and buy some crafts and souvenirs. Proceed to Kampala or Entebbe and your guide will drop you off at your hotel or at the Airport.
