3 Day Gorilla Trekking Uganda

This 3-day Gorilla Safari takes you for a remarkable Gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi. This park has a diverse ecosystem with the forest that has existed for over 25,000 years. It is situated in Southwestern Uganda covering an area of 321Sqkm and is divided into 5 sectors including Ruhija, Buhoma, Nyakagezi, Nkuringo, and Rushaga which have different Gorilla families. Besides the Gorillas, you will have a chance of seeing other primates during you trek such as the baboons, chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys among others. The Park is a habitat to over 350 bird species, 50 reptile species, 220 butterfly species, 120 mammal species, and species of chameleons, frogs, geckos among others. Trekking Gorillas takes between two to eight hours, basing on the location of the gorilla family you are trekking. Walking through the jungle, climbing the rolling hills and finally meeting the mighty giants is worth your time.

Tour Plan

Day 1: Travel to Bwindi NP

You will be picked up by the guide from the Airport or your hotel, be briefed and by 7:00am start off for the 8 to 9 hours journey to Bwindi. The journey is quiet long that is why you need to set off early. You will have a short stop at the Equator, ensure to take enough photos, you can buy a few crafts and proceed to Mbarara town for Lunch. Later continue to Bwindi through the spectacular landscapes of the rolling hills, plantations all the way to the park. Upon arrival, check in at the lodge of your choice, relax and have dinner. Day 2: Gorilla Trekking - Bwindi

After an early breakfast, you will be picked up from the lodge by the guide and be transferred to the Park Headquarters where you will be briefed about the Trek. After being briefed you will be guided by experienced ranger guides into the jungle to look for these mighty and gentle giants. When you meet the gorillas, it is one of the most adorable moments, as you watch them feed, play and also the mothers feed babies. You are allowed to spend only 1 hour with them. The trek might take 2-8 hours basing on where the gorillas are located that day, hence don’t forget to carry along packed lunch from the lodge and enough drinking water. After the trek, you might choose to rest at your lodge or go for a walk in the Batwa Community. Where you will learn more about this indigenous culture. Later head to the lodge for dinner. Day 3:  Travel back to Entebbe/Kampala

Have breakfast, and check out of your lodge and drive through spectacular landscapes. Have lunch in Mbarara and proceed, you can choose to have another stop at the Equator or not, but this time around you can visit the Mpambire drum making center. Thereafter, continue to Kampala and you will be dropped off at your hotel or at the Airport in Entebbe.
