5 Days Uganda Wildlife and Gorillas

This 5 days safari will take you firstly for a wildlife experience in Queen Elizabeth NP and for Gorilla tracking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable NP, both of these Parks are situated in the Western part of Uganda. Queen Elizabeth covers an area of 1,978km2 and is home to various wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, lions, antelopes, waterbucks, leopards, among others and many different bird species.

Tour Plan

Day 1: Kampala – Queen Elizabeth NP

Pick up by your guide from the airport or hotel who will brief you about your 5 day safari and start off your journey to the Western Part of Uganda, have a stop for photos at the Equator. You will proceed with the journey and have lunch in Mbarara town and later arrive at the Park in the evening. Have a short drive through the Park and check in at your lodge, refresh and have dinner. Day 2 : Game Drive and Boat Cruise

Have breakfast and go for a game drive towards the Kasenyi plains as you look for Lions and leopards. During the drive, you will see a different wild animals like Warthogs, bushbucks, Buffaloes, Elephants, Waterbucks, Giant Hogs and many more. After the drive, head back to the lodge for a delicious meal, and by 2:00pm ensure you are already at the boat for an amazing experience as you sail along the Kazinga channel. You will see crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, crocodiles and various birds. Later that evening drive to the lodge, unwind and enjoy dinner. Accommodation Options;

Day 3:  Visit Ishasha and proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable NP

Enjoy breakfast and drive through the Park to Bwindi via Ishasha Sector which is situated in the south of the Park, it is home to climbing lions and other animals. Continue with the journey having lunch en route and check in at the Lodge, have diner and spend a night there. Accommodation Options;

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking – Community visit

After breakfast, leave your lodge and ensure that you are at the Park Headquarter by 8:00am, where you will be briefed by the park rangers before you start the Gorilla trek. After briefing you will enter the jungle in search for the Gorillas, sometimes the trek is strenuous yet rewarding. You will have an hour with these Gentle Gorillas, as you watch them play, feed and behave with fellow gorillas. This trek can take 2 to 6 hours depending on the movements of the Gorillas. Later leave the jungle and in the evening, visit the Batwa community in order to experience the culture of this indigenous group off people. That evening go to the lodge for diner and a night stay. Day 5: Return to Kampala

Have your breakfast and transfer to Entebbe or Kampala or Kigali, basing on the time of your flight or where your accommodation facility is. The journey time while driving from Bwindi to Kampala or Entebbe is 8 or 9 hours respectively whereas to Kigali Airport is 4-5hours.
