Day 1: Arrive in Entebbe and Transfer to Kasese

After a brief stop for any necessary preparations, you'll embark on a scenic drive to the town of Kasese, nestled at the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains. Spend the evening acclimatizing and preparing for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Briefing and Trek to Nyakalengija

After a hearty breakfast, you'll receive a comprehensive briefing from your expert guides, covering essential information about the trek, safety protocols, and what to expect along the way. Afterward, you'll commence your journey by trekking to Nyakalengija, the first campsite on the Rwenzori trail. Day 3: Trek to Nyabitaba Hut

Today's trek will be more challenging, as you ascend higher into the mountains, passing through diverse landscapes and traversing rugged terrain. Your destination is the Nyabitaba Hut, situated at an elevation of approximately 2,650 meters (8,694 feet). Along the way, you'll be treated to breathtaking vistas of the Rwenzori range, with its towering peaks and glaciers glistening in the distance. After reaching the hut, take a well-deserved rest and prepare for the next day's ascent.

Day 4: Trek to John Matte Hut

Prepare for a strenuous but rewarding day as you continue your ascent towards the John Matte Hut, situated at an elevation of approximately 3,400 meters (11,155 feet). The trail will lead you through alpine meadows, rocky outcrops, and past stunning glacial lakes. Keep an eye out for the unique flora and fauna that thrive in these harsh yet beautiful environments. Upon reaching the hut, soak in the panoramic views and celebrate your accomplishment.

Day 5: Acclimatization and Exploration

Today is dedicated to acclimatization and exploration around the John Matte Hut area. Your guides will lead you on a series of short hikes, allowing your body to adjust to the high altitude gradually. Take this opportunity to immerse yourself in the stunning surroundings, observe the glaciers up close, and potentially spot some of the region's unique wildlife, such as the rock hyrax or the elusive Rwenzori turaco.

Day 6: Summit Attempt – Margherita Peak (5,109 meters/16,763 feet)

This is the day you've been preparing for – the summit attempt of Margherita Peak, the highest point in the Rwenzori Mountains and the third highest peak in Africa. After an early start, you'll embark on a challenging but exhilarating climb, navigating steep terrain, scrambling over rocky outcrops, and potentially crossing snow and ice fields. Your guide's expertise and encouragement will be invaluable as you push yourself to the limit. Day 7: Descent to Nyabitaba Hut

After your triumphant summit achievement, it's time to begin the descent. You'll retrace your steps back towards Nyabitaba Hut, taking in the stunning vistas from a different perspective. Day 8: Trek to Nyakalengija and Transfer to Entebbe

On the final day of your adventure, you'll complete the trek back to Nyakalengija, where your journey began.
