15 Days Best of Uganda Safari

We call this 15 days safari, best of Uganda because it takes you to Uganda’s best National Parks to experience Primates, Wildlife, Culture, and Sightseeing. This safari is a very interesting adventure which will help you discover the tourism treasures of Uganda. You will participate in Chimpanzee tracking, Gorilla trekking, Boat cruises, Wildlife viewing, Cultural encounters in Kibale Forest, Bwindi Impenetrable, Queen Elizabeth, Kidepo Valley National Parks and more exciting experiences on Lake Bunyonyi, in Jinja district and Sipi Falls in Kapchorwa district.  

Tour Plan

Day 1:  Entebbe/Kampala to Jinja District

You will be picked up by Tranquil Safaris guide who will brief you about this safari and later transfer you on a 2 hours and a half drive to Jinja district in the East of Uganda. When you reach begin on the adventure of white water rafting along River Nile, this activity doesn’t require you be experienced, you just have to be adventurous. Other activities that can be done if you have time are bungee jumping, quad biking, tubing on the Nile, horse riding or cycling. Enjoy lunch in Jinja and diner that evening, and spend a night in Jinja. Accommodation options;

Day 2: Sipi Falls Hike

Have an early breakfast and drive to Sipi falls found in Kapchorwa District on Mount Elgon. You will be transferred to the head office of Sipi for briefing and then begin your hike with a local guide. Sipi falls is made up of three stunning waterfalls, pouring from 100m, 75m & 85m, these falls are a continuation of Sipi River that makes its way on Mount Elgon. They are very beautiful and give best picturesque views to tourists, you will get to learn how they were formed. Apart from hiking, you can participate in Abseiling also. Have lunch on that day and spend a night there with diner served at your lodge. Accommodation Options;

Day 3: Transfer to Moroto for Karamojong Experience

Enjoy breakfast and travel to Moroto, why you have to stop in Moroto before heading to Kidepo NP is because the distance is long from Sipi to the Park, so you break it with the Karamojong Cultural Experience in Moroto. Have lunch in Moroto, and go for the Cultural experience that afternoon. Enjoy diner and an overnight stay in Moroto. Accommodation options;

Day 4: Transfer to Kidepo National Park – Evening Game Drive

Enjoy an early breakfast and thereafter leave Moroto for Kidepo, the journey is filled with stunning views of lowlands covered with savannah. Arrive at the lodge, have lunch and in the evening go for an evening game drive through the park to watch some animals as they relax and graze along the savannah plains. Accommodation Options;

Day 5: Game Drive & Community Tour – Kidepo

Kidepo is one of those National parks that offer a true savannah and wilderness experience, it is a very beautiful park with big numbers of wildlife. So have breakfast and start off your day with a game drive through the park to watch the animals enjoy their natural habitat. You will spot many buffaloes, elephants, thousands of antelopes, giraffes, oribis, waterbucks, hartebeests, stripped hyenas, and lions, even cheetahs can be seen. Have lunch and in the afternoon visit one of the Karamojong communities in the Park. The Karamojongs are a tribe in Uganda and live in northeastern Uganda with amazing culture, traditions and customs, they are almost likened to the Maasai of Kenya. While in this community, you will enjoy amazing dances and music sessions from these people. They also make crafts, so you could by some to support their work. Day 6: To Murchison Falls

On this day, rise up early and have breakfast and begin the journey to Murchison Falls, it is a long drive that why you have to set off early. Enjoy lunch on the way and reach in Murchison in the evening. Check in at the lodge and relax there. Accommodation Options;

Day 7: Game Drive and Boat Cruise

Wake up early, have breakfast, and go for game viewing in Uganda’s largest Park. You will have start the game drive very early on the Northern side of the park such that you are able to see a number of animals including the predators because they love hiding during the day. You will see large herds of buffaloes and elephants, lions, hartebeests, giraffes and warthogs. Have lunch and that afternoon go for a boat cruise on the Nile, the cruise takes approximately 3 hours and takes you to see the thunderous Murchison Falls. During the cruise, you will notice stunning vegetation and animals on the banks of the river such as crocodile, hippos, buffaloes and different birds. When you reach the falls, this is the most thrilling experience as you watch water make its way through a narrow hole, enjoy great views of the falls on the boat. Day 8: Top of the falls and Transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast leave Murchison for a 7 hour drive to the hub of Chimpanzees known as Kibale Forest. But before you head out of the park, your guide will take you to the top of the Murchison falls for more picturesque moments, it is very stunning. The journey takes you through different communities, villages with great sightings of hills and valleys. This park hosts 13 primate species and the main activities done there are tracking of chimpanzees and bird watching. Have lunch on the way and arrive in the late afternoon. Day 9: Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Wetland Tour

Rise up early enough and enjoy breakfast the driver will pick you up and take you to head office of the park for briefing. Chimpanzees are highlight of the Park, so after briefing enter this tropical forest for tracking, this track lasts between 2 to 4 hours and only one hour is given to trackers once they see the Chimps. As you continue with tracking you shall see different tree and plant species, bird and butterfly species, monkeys like the red-tailed, black and white colobus and many more. After tracking, have lunch and go for the Bigodi wetland tour, this swamp is diverse and is home to many primates and bird species. The swamp is a project of the community and the proceeds are given to the establishment of community schools and more community improvement. Later, get to the lodge for diner and overnight. Day 10: To Queen Elizabeth NP

After breakfast, leave for Queen Elizabeth national Park with a stop at the amazing crater lakes for more sightseeing. Proceed to Kasese where the park is found. You could choose to just relax and rest at the lodge or go for an evening game drive. Have diner and spend a night at your lodge. Accommodation Options;

Day : 11 Game Drive and Boat Cruise

Enjoy breakfast, and head out for an early morning game drive, you will drive along the kasenyi track to look for wildlife, you might spot buffaloes, lions, antelopes, waterbucks, elephants and a leopard if lucky; leopards are rare but also shy animals. Drive to the lodge after the game drive for lunch and that very afternoon go for a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel. The cruise starts from Mweya Peninsula and takes you along this channel to see more exciting wildlife species like hippos, crocodiles, antelopes as well as various birds. After go to the lodge, relax and enjoy diner. Accommodation Options;

Day 12: Game drive through Ishasha and transfer to Bwindi

Be served with breakfast, and do a game drive through Queen to Ishasha sector which is the Park’s southern part for a game drive in search for Tree Climbing Lions, buffaloes, antelopes and elephants will also be seen. After proceed to Bwindi, check in at the lodge and relax there that evening. Accommodation Options;

Day 13: Gorilla Tracking – Bwindi

You have to be very early on this day, have breakfast from the lodge your guide will take you the Park head office for gorilla trekking briefing. After being briefed, you shall enter the lush jungle in search for the mighty giant gorillas. Trekking takes about 2 to 6 hours depending on the location of the Gorillas in the Park but only 1 hour will be given to trekkers the moment they meet these animals. During the trek, you will be able to see the silverbacks, blackbacks, the young and the juveniles, it is fulfilling. After the trek you will receive a certificate showing that you trekked and after have lunch. If you get doe with the trek early enough you could first go to the lodge to rest and later go for the Batwa Cultural experience to enjoy this culture. Return to your lodge for dinenr. 14 To Lake Bunyonyi
On this day, have breakfast and leave Bwindi for Lake Bunyonyi found in Kabale District. This lake is bordered with spectacular terraced hills and is home to many birds and 29 islands. When you reach, you will have a boat ride where you will hear amazing stories about this lake and its islands. The boat ride is filled with amazing views. After have lunch and that afternoon you can choose to rest at the lodge or go out again for a nature walk along the hills for bird watching or simply swim in Uganda’s deepest lake. 15 Transfer to Entebbe/Kigali
By this day, we believe you indeed had the best experience of Uganda. So, your departure can either be your driver taking you back to Entebbe for your flight back with a stop at the Equator to take photos and buying of souvenirs or to he takes you to Kigali International Airport in Rwanda since it is nearer Kabale District.
