2 Days Rwanda Chimpanzee Tracking

The 2 days Rwanda Chimpanzee Tracking safari will take you to Nyungwe Forest for Chimpanzee tracking and a Canopy walk experience on a 160 meter suspended bridge above the lush forest. There are 400 Chimpanzees in this Park and going on this safari will enable you to see most of them including other primate species such as the red-tailed monkeys, baboons, vervet monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys and a number of birds.

Tour Plan

Day 1: Leave Kigali to Nyungwe Forest – Canopy Walk

You will be picked up by our guide from the Airport or your residence in Kigali. He will brief you about the safari and then start the 5hour journey to Nyungwe. This journey is thrilling filled with stunning picturesque views. Have a stop to enjoy lunch en route and continue with the journey to Nyungwe. Upon arrival check in at the lodge and drive to Uwinka reception centre for briefing and start of the Canopy walk. The walk takes 2 hours and is done on a suspended bridge laid above Nyungwe forest, this is a great experience where you will see various plant, wildlife and bird species. Later return to the lodge for unwinding, diner and an overnight stay. Accommodation options

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking & Travel back to Kigali

Have an early breakfast and set out to the tracking starting point for briefing, and after briefing enter into the lush forest in search for the Chimpanzees. Only one hour is given to you when you meet them. After tracking, have packed lunch and meet your driver who will transfer you back to Kigali for either your fight or to your residence.
