6 Days Tanzania Safari, Wildlife and Culture

This 6 days Tanzania Safari creates a memorable experience for you while in Tanzania, offering you amazing wildlife viewing and cultural experiences in Tanzania’s remarkable tourist destinations – Lake Manyara, Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater. The 6 days Tanzania Safari begins from Arusha to the beautiful Lake Manyara covered with big numbers of flamingos and tree climbing lions, then takes you to the spectacular Serengeti also known as the ‘endless plains’, a great place to see the wildebeest migration and the safari ends with a visit to the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater. While in these parks, expect Big game viewing during game drives. Look out for the Big Cats, Big 5 and many other amazing wildlife species. Also note that, to be able to see the great migration of wildebeests depends on the time of the year you travel. In addition to the wildlife, expect to experience Tanzania’s culture displayed by the Maasai people in their communities.

Tour Plan

Day 1: From Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park

Start off your 6 days Tanzania tour with briefing and a pickup our guide from Arusha. He will take you on a 2 to 3 hours journey to Lake Manyara National Park.  Upon arrival, check in at the lodge and have lunch there. After lunch, drive through the park for game viewing. This park is spectacular made up of the stunning Lake Manyara, open savanna plains and forested valleys, all these shelter various wildlife species such as African buffalos, elephants, olive baboons, tree climbing lions, antelopes, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras and many more. The wetlands, hot springs and woodlands in Lake Manyara host over 400 species of birds such as pelicans, storks, flamingos and cormorants hence it is regarded as a birder’s haven. After the game drive, return to the lodge, dine and have an overnight stay.

Day 2: To Serengeti National Park

Enjoy breakfast, check out of the lodge and set off the 6 hours journey to Serengeti National Park via rural Maasai Villages and the Conservation Area of Ngorongoro. Serengeti is among the earth’s oldest ecosystems with beautiful weather, flora and fauna and it is said very little has changed about this park over the years, hence still gives tourists the true African Safari experience. Serengeti is famous to the world for its amazing Great migration of the wildebeests, a dramatic and iconic scene shown on various wildlife documentaries. When you arrive in the park, have lunch and go for a game drive through the park looking for animals. After the drive, head to the lodge, dine and enjoy an overnight stay.

Day 3: Full Day Serengeti

Be early to rise, have breakfast and start off the day with a game drive in order to catch up with the early risers or the nocturnal as they return from hunting. Serengeti is a big park and almost all of its plains are covered with wildlife, and the game drive offers you a chance to see lions, cheetahs, gazelles, wildebeests, wild dogs, hippos, warthogs, impalas, giraffes, elephants, hyenas, topis and ostriches. After the morning drive, drive to the lodge for relaxation and lunch and return again for the second game drive or you could enjoy a picnic lunch in the park and proceed with game viewing since there is a lot the park has to offer. That evening return to the lodge, unwind and dine.

Day 4: Game Drive in Serengeti and travel to Ngorongoro with a stop at the Olduvai Gorge

Enjoy breakfast, enjoy a game drive through the scenic Seronera Valley with in the park, and also visit the Simba Kojes where cheetahs and lions hide their cubs. After that, have lunch, check out of the lodge and transfer to Ngorongoro with a stop at the Olduvai Gorge if time allows, upon arrival in Ngorongoro drive to your lodge and unwind while there as you wait for diner to be served. Enjoy diner and overnight.  

Day 5: Full Day Ngorongoro Crater Experience

Enjoy an early well served breakfast and drive to the Ngorongoro Crater base for an amazing game drive in search for wildlife species and birds. You will have a picnic lunch at the crater base and proceed with another game drive. After proceed to the lodge, relax and have diner. As you descend, note that Ngorongoro is 2000ft deep, it was formed as a result of volcanic eruption and it ranks as the world’s biggest caldera hosting over 250,000 wild animals which include the zebras, wildebeest, rare black rhinos, cheetahs, elephants, buffaloes, and hyenas, leopards, painted wolves as well as different bird species such as the flamingos. The wetlands inside the crater shelter many flocks of flamingos and schools of hippos whereas the forests inside the crater shelter big herds of buffaloes and elephants.

Day 6: Maasai Cultural Experience

Have a relaxed breakfast on this day and after visit a Maasai village that is found in the Ngorongoro Highlands for their cultural experience. Spend enough time with these people, getting to know about their day to day life, their education, music, dance and drama among other things. You may also participate in how to design their beadwork and fire making. After the cultural visit, drive to Arusha with a stop for lunch and last minute shopping along the way. Drop off will either be at your residence in Arusha or at the Airport.
